PATIENCE... DO WE EVER STRIVE FOR IT?

Human psyche perceives controlling five vices - Pride, Lust, Anger, Attachment and Greed, as being perhaps the five most difficult things to do during our short stay on this planet. And the solution to controlling these vices lies within ourselves only.

Self-discipline comes from Self-realization. Self-realization comes from Self-introspection. Self-introspection comes with Patience and Patience comes from Practice.

When we say that we are fighting these vices, this means we are already aware of these problems, which are hampering our spiritual growth, and we are already on our way. But then this should not be said just for mere saying or for impressing upon others.

Actually, the fact of the matter is that as soon as we are confronted with a critical situation, we simply forget to practice patience with ourselves and are conveniently overtaken by any of the above-mentioned vices.

Example: As soon as somebody offends us, our 'ego' comes forward and we, conveniently, forget about practicing patience. Have we ever analyzed how long a period of time we actually remember an incident that gave us the feeling of hurt or insult, regardless of the magnitude of a dispute?

I would say... not more than 2-3 days at the most. And after that, whatever we recollect from that argument, is just a hazy picture of what had actually happened. But the hurt/insult, of whatever derogatory remark she/he said to us, always remains embedded in our mind.

Obviously, the same applies to the other person as well. Those derogatory remarks play games in our minds, for a lifetime in some cases. We hardly remember the cause for which we had argued and tend to remember only the hurt/insult thus caused. Hurt or insult is caused by our false 'ego' or 'ahamkaar' only. This is the reason we are unhappy for most of our lives.

We always say how dare she/he say these remarks to me? (We can't even recollect the remarks...). But, we do not realize that whatever she/he uttered was restricted by her/his level of thinking/intellect... We feel this hurt/insult only because we take whatever is said to us to heart & mind and that is where all the problems arise. What if we do not take the insult at all? She/he can do nothing about it.

Patience is a rare state of mind, where we are neither too happy on the happening of a favorable event nor too depressed on the happening of an unfavorable event. Our goal: the state of mind in which we are constantly in 'Anand...Eternal Joy...Bliss'.

But this state of mind needs practice; practicing restrain or patience with ourselves. Some would simply argue, "Very difficult! Very difficult!!" But: Is it really that difficult? Have we ever strived for it? I am afraid, no, never ever!

So, one derogatory remark from she/he induces another derogatory remark from us and so this vicious circle continues to a point where there can be no looking back.

And in 100% of the cases, we earn nothing from our false ego-based arguments but rather might lose the blessings of our elders or a true friend for a lifetime. By dragging his/her thinking (derogatory words) into our mind again and again, we are not only corrupting our minds but we also don't allow good thoughts to enter our mind.

If we could just practice patience and just listen to what the other person has to say, without blasting him/her out of his/her 'ego', we would solve a lot of problems. We need to practice patience with our minds.

So, whenever we feel bothered with such feelings of hurt/insult, just go to quieter places and try to empty our mind from such thoughts. By giving our mind a feed of positive thoughts or even think about the positive sides of that individual who had hurt/insulted us in the first place, maybe we could reconcile with him/her.

But again, this comes from practicing patience. Now, whenever there is a situation when we feel that one of the five vices are overtaking our thinking, just take a deep cool breath and hold back. We will certainly cool down.

You could say that the other person would brag/boast that he has proven his point, just because we have stopped responding to the negative arguments. We should remember that nobody has ever won an argument and his/her bragging could just be their 'false-ego' only.

Let him/her feel happy!! We can't be right each time and the other person can't be wrong each time. So, if we can gain something from others, we should feel grateful to him/her. We can at least give Patience a try. Patience definitely breeds peace of mind.

Come on, let us give it a try.

Websites Great Concept Bad Execution

Good: These cookies are amazing! They taste so good that you won't want cookies from anywhere else. but...

The website is terrible. Why?

1. The pictures takes away from the cookies.
2. - - When you decide to go to a restaurant you decide on the thought of what the food looks/tastes like or because the advertisement looked great! I have passed up many restaurants because the food looks terrible on the menu.
3. The design makes no sense.
4. - - Without saying anything about the colors, the site says come buy some cookies. It doesn't say anything else. Can I have some history, who's recipe are they, are they from scratch, are they better than whats in the store, tell me why I should buy cookies from you.
5. The design is terrible, the pictures take away from the cookies, and the branding is non existent.
6. We wouldn't know that these are the best cookies in the world by looking at this site. This could actually cause sales to leave by sending people here.

Auto-sabotage: Future Relationships...

If you have a predetermined attitude that every man you meet will be "selfish" and "chauvinistic" or "____" (fill in your own negative attributes), then you have decided the fate of all of your future relationships. So you might as well throw in the towel, and call it a day...Is that what you really want to do?

It's true that we are all human, and we will all make mistakes...but our mistakes should not be all-encompassing of who we are... I hope some of my previous actions haven't defined me, but more importantly I hope no one else's mistakes are defining me.

There is probably a guy out there thinking the same negative thoughts about girls that the girls are thinking about guys right now...and YOU could be the one to prove the opposite wrong.

BUT if he/she has predetermined that all girls/guys will be "_____" (fill in the negative blank), then that is how he/she will see them, and how they will see YOU. So you can't have a chance to be anything better than his/her previous experiences. How unfair! Unfair for him to prejudge you, or ruin their own opportunity with a wonderful girl/guy like yourself...

This thought process may actually sabotage the potentially good relationships that you could have. Don't partake in auto-sabotage... and try not to make the good guys responsible for the bad guys choices.

Be patient, and God will place someone in your life as He sees fit.

Good Morning!!! It’s August 29^th, 2009 12:47 a.m. , I just finished drinking some Le Vive and I am wide awake! I just realized that I have NEGLECTED ARELI LIFE! I have had no blog posts in almost 2 WEEKS!

In these last two weeks a lot has happened. I went back into the car business! I just reopened Areli Auto Sales! Now the government can get a few more tax dollars out of me. I also started doing business with Ardyss Int. Most people know them by their flagship garment the ‘Body Magic’ or there slogan ‘Drop 3 sizes in 10 minutes’!

Ardyss is amazing! The product sells itself and there are MEN and women who have made 70 and 80k monthly after only being in the business for 6 months! Some may say it is oversaturated, what would I say? No, I can’t agree! It may be oversaturated in Atlanta but it is not known anywhere else in the U.S.A! Time to take over another state! I am shooting for the online community though!

Good afternoon! It is not 4:42 p.m. eastern standard time and I am sitting in Barnes and Noble next to a beautiful Russian girl that keep sneaking glances at me and talking to me when her boyfriend gets up. I really don’t want any problems so I will just leave this situation where it’s at and not go any further even though that little devil on my shoulder is telling me to get in trouble. Stocks…

Td Ameritrade took forever to wire money out of one of my personal accounts to my business account so I missed out on about 15K of trading profits between Wednesday and today. It would have been a really good week if I could have traded but I didn’t so… No need to be FRUSTRATED!!@!!! On a brighter note I met with one of my clients and they gave me an extra 100 bux for doing great work with them! Woo Hoo! I was so excited! I can pay part of my phone bill with that. Lol. Economy….

Even though I can classify myself as a shorter trader I am really wondering what the market as a whole will do over the next few months. Will it listen to Peter Schiff and drop like a rock or will it reason with the o so optimistic Larry Kudlow and keep going higher? Personally I think it going to drop like a rock because these corporate earnings are only hear because of stimulus and cash for clunkers. We really don’t have any true catalyst for job creation… I’m not an economist so I will just keep scraping percentages from 09:30 a.m. to 12:59 p.m. and call it a day. End of my first week…

Today ends my first business week of entrepreneurship! It has been a great experience! I feel like I want to save every single dime that I get now even though I know I have more than enough saved up. I guess that could be a good problem to have! Monday will start a new day of trading, until then holla. I have to entertain guests this weekend!

This morning I day traded my QQQQ’s for about an hour. I did pretty well – netting over 1K -, I figure that’s not bad for an hour of work in my pajamas. I then got called by a fashion designer that I am doing a little work for. She is looking to have her website updated before her fashion show in a couple weeks so she can get some orders for her new spring collection. I went ahead got requirements, set expectations, and let her know my vision. Another one of her friends then came to the house and gave me another lead for some business.

This guy owns a boutique on Peachtree and needs an online image for his store. He is paying about 5K a month in rent for his shop and just see’s his business going down the drain. We went through a few ideas and came to a preliminary agreement. I think I will ask for a 10% stake in his company, access to wholesale clothing, and a monetary contribution for my work for his store online.

What we as young people and entrepreneurs have to remember is that money is not everything. Relationships are one of the most important things you can build. Along with that relationship you can get referrals and plenty of help for other things you need to do build your business free or at discounted rates!

Then we look at the 10% stake in his company, because I will be a shareholder in the company I will do any and everything I can to make my stake worth more. This means that 5 years from now if he becomes the next Versace or Dolce I will own 10% of the company.

After looking at the stake I can glance at the wholesale clothing. Boutiques have clothing that no one else has but there prices are CRAZY! I would be out of about 2 grand buying some things I like it his store. Now I can be funky fresh for less because of my wholesale part of the deal.

Talk about a great situation for everyone! I will be boosting his business by at least 80% and I get a very good deal as well. My how the world flows! J

P.S. about 5 minutes ago one of my partners called me with another business contact. This one will probably be strictly monetary but I probably will be able to leverage sometime in the future.

What does it really take to be successful?

Before being successful you have to know what success is. Most believe that you’re only successful if you become famous or make a million dollars. Even though those can be pieces of success, true success is meeting or exceeding your goals. You have to realize that in order to be successful you need to have clear cut short term and long term goals in place that you will do anything legal to achieve! Once that realization comes there is nothing that can stop you from becoming successful!

Is it real that hard to be successful?

Everything is easy if you really want it! Don’t let anyone tell you that anything is difficult or hard to do! Difficulty only comes when there is a lack of knowledge. This means that in order to be successful and overcome difficulty you have to do two simple things.

First, understand that you don’t know everything! You should take any and all opportunities to learn. I have learned things from funky hoboes and strawberry scented multi-millionaires. Once we realize this, our natural instinct will be to learn anyway we can. You will find yourself listening more then you speak and reading books that you would have never touched before to fulfill your need to understand.

Second, you will have to figure out which stage of success you are in. Not all the knowledge that you gain front step one will be useable in all parts of success! You will have to figure out what stage you are in and act accordingly.

So, what is difficult for you now? It definitely not being successful! Go read a book, talk to someone, and be successful!

Who am I? Why do you want to know who I am? Why are you even reading this blog about life after working a job in corporate America? Well… If you are still reading this I guess it’s only right for me to introduce myself… First name is Maurice and my last name is confidential… I am an extremely motivated 21 year old who will step out on nothing, turn it into a space shuttle, and then fly to the moon!

What is my purpose? Why am I writing in this blog everyday and putting my business out here? Well, the main purpose of this blog is to show other young people that anything you put your mind to can be done! I don’t care if your 15 years old or 30 you can do it! So, to conclude this about me section… I will go ahead and tell you a little history about me…

When I was 16 years old I started my first business selling items on Ebay. I had enough sense to know about supply and demand but I didn’t know the first thing about running a successful business. After grossing about 80,000 dollars it failed because of bad management. I then went to get my first job at Target starting at about 8 bux an hour! So I went from working 2 hours a night to 8+ hours a day for half the pay. That was the worst feeling in the world!

I then transferred to a target in Atlanta so I could attend Georgia State and get my CSC degree. A few months after, I landed a internship developing software for a major company.

A month ago I received another raise to 19 bux an hour, a pat on the back, and a guarantee that I would get a stable job with the company when I graduate from college. Well 2 weeks after that I resigned from that perfectly good job and finished up that internship yesterday 08/07/2009 and 06:15 p.m. Why? The entrepreneur kicked back in and I had to go to my calling. Is anything guaranteed? Nope, all I know is these God given talents are going to be put to use yet again on Monday. God said he would always keep me and I know he will. Here comes success and I AM READY FOR YOU!
